Tour of the Palm Beaches Departure 1:00 pm EST

*Minimum of 55 Participants – If minimum is not reached, refunds will be given

This city tour will take us down South Ocean Boulevard which is one of the most scenic streets in Palm Beach with its rolling waves, coconut palms and many architectural homes. Traveling North on Ocean Boulevard is the former Woolworth estate, followed by J.R. McLean’s estate, heir to the Hope diamond, which was briefly owned by John Lennon and Yoko Ono. Estee Lauder’s estate and several other turn-of-the-century homes are also on Ocean Boulevard. Other points of interest include: The Breakers Hotel, Bethesda-by-the-Sea Church, J.F. Kennedy’s Church, Royal Palm Way, Flagler Museum, and the famous Worth Avenue.

This year, we have the distinct pleasure of meeting members from The Greater Circle City (Marion County, IN) Interest Group. After you have had the opportunity to settle into your room from traveling, come and meet the wonderful ladies of The Greater Circle Interest Group at their Drifters’ only reception. It will be a special occasion for us to greet them and to give them our personal welcome!”

Latin Night – Salsa Lessons/Dancing

Well, my Drifters, the time has come…to raise the roof and have some fun with all night long salsa lessons and dancing. The Wednesday Night Welcome Party is one you don’t want to miss because we will be kicking off the convention with one hot Latin Night Fiesta!

Drifter Opening Session: “Official Opening of the 67th National Drifters Annual Convention” Delegates should be seated immediately after breakfast. Opening session begins with a welcome address from our National President, Donna Roderick.

Attire: Business attire – Coral or Floral (No spaghetti straps, strapless or dresses with the back out)

Thursday Luncheon: Sister to Sister Luncheon

“Coasting with a Purpose; Sisters United”

 At our sister-to-sister luncheon, we will celebrate and honor each other for our contributions to our chapters and national organization. The National Drifters recognize each chapter’s “Special Drifter” who has gone above and beyond in serving their chapter and community. Be sure to bring a gift card valued at $10.00 for our sister-to-sister table gift exchange.

Attire: Business attire – Coral or Floral (No spaghetti straps, strapless or dresses with the back out)

Thursday Night

“Drifters Luau”

 

All white, beach-casual attire. Ladies, wear your white sundresses, white shorts and tank tops, white jeans, or jumpsuits. Men wear your linen suits, shorts or any all-white attire. It’s going to be a hot one. Wear comfortable shoes because we will dance the night away. Dinner, DJ and live entertainment will make a fantastic night filled with fun! Get ready to win prizes when you limbo and make it to the other side of that limbo stick!

Friday Luncheon: Human Services

Serving Our Communities; From the East to the West

After embracing an outstanding morning of our sisterhood fulfilling service during our business session, we will convene for our luncheon entitled “Serving Our Communities; From the East to the West.” We are requesting that each Drifter bring a $10 gift card (Burger King, Chick-fil-A, Kroger (Food 4 Less/Ralphs), McDonalds, Target, Starbucks, or Subway) or be prepared to give a donation of $10 to benefit Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass’ Unhoused Program to support our homeless population. During this luncheon we will celebrate our sisters as well as our community service activities and view chapter presentations. This is our day to honor each other for contributions made to our communities and enjoy a great afternoon in fellowship.

Attire: Business Silver/Gray with distinctive/fun sunglasses

Friday Night: Dine Around

Get ready to enjoy choosing where, what and when to eat dinner. Your choice may be one of the great restaurants in the Commons area, which is only a 5-minute commute outside the resort or perhaps you may want to relax and stay onsite and dine at one of the eateries at the PGA National Resort. Watch for the virtual advertisements and targeted discounts/meals offered on Drifter Night. Make your reservations early!

 

Game Night

You will want to return for the fun back at the resort as Drifters, Driftwood, family, and friends come to “Shake Your Booty Bingo.” There will be a DJ, dancing, and prizes. While the hospitality suites will not be open on Friday night, there will be a cash bar for this free event. Come one, come all and just maybe you will be a winner!

Memorial Service:

Before the business session, The National Drifters, Incorporated Memorial Service will allow us to come together as we honor and recognize our Drifter Sisters and family members lost. Each chapter should have representatives in attendance to participate in this special service as we acknowledge those who have transitioned since the 66th National Drifters Convention. During this special service, memorial keepsakes will be given to representatives of those remembered.

Saturday: Scholarship and Awards Luncheon

“Navigating to New Heights of Educational Excellence”

 Drifters will take the opportunity to present awards and scholarships to those who have achieved educational excellence and leadership over the past year. As Co-host of the 67th Convention of the National Drifters Incorporated, the Los Angeles Drifters will present scholarships to students who have exhibited academic excellence. In addition, the National Drifter Executive Board will award a scholarship to a deserving student. This event culminates with our presentation of the Drifters’ NOW BLACK WOMAN Award to the Drifter who has demonstrated exceptional service throughout the community and embodies the enduring virtues of our Drifter mission. Our luncheon concludes with our acknowledgement of the Drifter chapter with the highest percentage of attendance at our 67th National Annual Convention.

Saturday Evening Gala

“Sequins & Sneaker Ball”

Ladies, come to slay in your elegant gowns adorned with blinged-out sneakers. Wear your sparkling sequins and strut your stuff over great food, even better company, music, prizes for the best bling sneakers and most unique sneakers. Leave your high heels at home. We will dance the night away in our diamond studded sneaks! This event will be held in the beautiful PGA hotel ballroom.

Attire: After Five, Sequins and Sneakers
